A few years ago, doing my job well resulted in a promotion. Overnight I had become the supervisor of coworkers I had worked with for years. Some of them felt strongly that they were more deserving than me for the role. Needless to say, it did not take long for us to start hemorrhaging talent and suffering from what felt like numerous 'communication breakdowns.' Unspoken grudges were tearing us apart. As a new leader, I was determined to find a solution.
We were small team and together we had tons of experience. There was no reason for our performance numbers to drop how they did. My promotion had made some of my team feel less valued and unseen, while it had made the others feel like they were given a free ticket to zero accountability. I needed to find a way to keep my team accountability while making them all feel valued as well. What I had done to get to earn my promotion was not going to be what would keep me there.
This is when I discovered the John Maxwell lThat is When I joined the Maxwell Leadership Team and discovered John C. Maxwell's The Leadership Game: A wild, values-fueled adventure where execs laugh, team member's confess, and results explode!
Fast-forward: Churches reconnected fractured groups, schools turned apathetic kids into leaders, and families bonded like never before. If it unlocked that for them, imagine what it'll do for your crew.
